美达菲学校（The MacDuffieSchool）由哈佛大学毕业的美达菲夫妇创立于1890年，至今已有130年历史。值此130周年校庆之际，上海美达菲秉承着“怀中国心，做世界人”的办学理念，围绕着美达菲传统的六大核心价值观：“集体”、“正直”、“尊重”、“创造力”、“领导力”、“卓越”这六大核心价值观，不断在传承中发展、创新，举办了一系列精彩纷呈的校内外活动。

The MacDuffie School was founded in 1890 by the MacDuffie couple who graduated from Havard University. Till now, it has a 130-years history. On the 130th anniversary of the MacDuffie School, Shanghai MacDuffie held a series of activities according to the philosophy "with Chinese heart, be a world citizen", as well as the six circle values: community, integrity, respect, creativity, leadership, and excellence.

该系列活动从两方面出发。“怀中国心”意为立足中国，不忘初心，砥砺前行；而“做世界人”则要求学生拥有国际视野，面向全球，做一个怀有一颗赤子之心同时拥有博大胸怀的世界公民。

The series of activities was developed from two aspects. "Having a Chinese heart" means that our school and students are based in China, so that we should not forget our origins and need to keep moving forward. "Being a world citizen" requires students to have an international vision and be global citizens with a pure heart and a broad mind.

新生营地 Freshmen Camp

新学期开始前，为了让新生更好的融入集体，增加师生间的了解，上海美达菲开展新生营地活动。同学们不光能够参与各项体育和艺术活动，例如：帐篷搭建、射箭、飞盘、躲避球、gaga球、皮划艇、攀岩、马术、木工、手工艺术等等，更拥有了难忘的集体生活。

Before starting the new semester, in order to encourage newcomers to better integrate into the community and deepen the understanding between teachers and students, Shanghai MacDuffie organzied freshman camp activities. Students not only participated in various sports and arti activities, such as tent building, archery, frisbee, dodgeball, gaga ball, kayaking, rock climbing, equestrianism, woodworking, handcraft, but also had an unforgettable experience.

烛光迎新晚会 Candlelight

烛光迎新活动是美达菲学校传承百年的传统活动。每年新学期的伊始，大家都会环绕在篝火旁，传递烛光，也传递梦想和希望。这一项具有仪式感的活动，象征着新旧交融，提高了学校的凝聚力，也体现着美达菲的校园文化。

The candlelight welcome event is a traditional event passed down by MacDuffie School for more than a century. At the beginning of each semester, all the teachers and students always gather around the bonfire, not only passing the candlelight but also passing dreams and hopes. This ritualistic activity symbolizes the blending of the old and the new, improves the school's cohesion, and reflects the MacDuffie's school culture.

登山日 Mountain Day

自建校以来，登山日作为传统活动之一，已经深深地融入了美达菲师生们的心中。登山日活动旨在激发学生们健康和积极的心态，同时也鼓励全体师生尊重自然，亲近自然。正是通过这些具有文化教育意义的活动，美达菲将各大洲的学校连接在一起，不仅传递着学校的核心价值观以及集体荣誉感，更体现了师生们卓越的领导能力、团队协作能力以及校园精神。

Mountain Day, as one of the traditonal events, have developed over the years and are now embedded in the MacDuffie Schools, uniting the schools across continents through their shared educational culture and events. The events also serve to practically and symbolically represent the school’s CIRCLE values, Honor Code and emphasis on Leadership, Teamwork, and School Spirit.

万圣节活动 Halloween Party

在这片多元化、国际化的校园里，在“怀中国心，做世界人”这一办学理念的引领下，同学们在未踏出国门的情况下，依然能够感受到中西文化的碰撞与交融。万圣节之夜，在学生会的组织和策划下，全校同学欢聚一堂，尽情发挥着自己的创造力和想象力。

In this diversified and international campus, students can still feel the collision and fusion of Chinese and Western cultures without going abroad under the guidance of Shanghai MacDuffie's philosophy: "International vision with Chinese heart." On Halloween night, all the students also demonstrated their amazing creativity and imagination during various activities.

圆周率日 Pi Day

在数学中，圆周率π的近似值是3.14，因此3月14日被称为圆周率日。为了一起庆祝伟大的数学日，同学和老师们以各种方式积极参加到这场一年一度的趣味活动中。在活动中，同学们不仅会亲身参与Pie的制作与烘焙，同时会聚集在一起思考圆周率在他们生活中的角色，以及没有了圆周率的世界会是怎样

In mathematics, the approximate value of Pi is 3.14, so March 14 is called Pi Day. To celebrate the great math day together, students and teachers actively participated in this annual activity in various ways. In this activity, the students not only participated in the production and baking pies but also gathered together to think about the role of Pi in their lives and what the world would be like without Pi.

毕业舞会 Prom

毕业舞会意味着一种正式的场合：了解礼仪规范，学会打扮自己，迈出破冰的一步，同时对人的社交能力是一种全方位的锻炼。

毕业舞会是高中生们的一次成人礼：从此孩子们自己走向了独立与自由。而与他人的情感是人类的本能，是人生幸福与否最重要的指标之一，在毕业舞会上高中生们学会欣赏和尊重他人，学会配合他人与相互欣赏。

The prom was a formal occasion: understand the etiquette rules, learn to dress yourself, take a step towards breaking the ice, and at the same time it is an all-round development for students' social skills.

The prom was a coming-of-age gift for students: since then, students had moved to be independent. In the prom, students learned to cooperate, appreciate, and respect others.

教师节活动 Teacher's Day

“怀中国心，做世界人”。作为一所面向国际的学校，最重要的仍然是不忘初心，砥砺前行。立足于祖国的土地，上海美达菲将国际与国内的元素相结合。教师节的活动中，同学们献上花束与DIY的小礼物，感恩老师们一直以来将光明传递给身边每一个人，用心中的温暖和爱点亮黑暗的奉献精神。

"With Chinese heart, be a world citizen". Although Shanghai MacDuffie is an international bilingual school, the most important thing is not to forget our origins. In the motherland, Shanghai MacDuffie combines global and domestic elements. In the activities of Teacher's Day, the students gave DIY gifts to show their thankfulness.

社团活动 Clubs

学校拥有丰富多彩的社团活动。在老师的指导下，同学们也可以根据爱好，成立自己的社团，招募社团成员。目前，除了篮球、足球、羽毛球等体育类社团外，还有国际象棋、绘画、摄影、戏剧、心理、商社等独具上海美达菲特色的社团。

Our school has a variety of club activities. Under the guidance of teachers, students can also develop their own clubs and recruit members according to their hobbies. Apart from sports clubs such as basketball, football, and badminton, there are also various clubs representing Shanghai MacDuffie's unique characteristics, such as chess, painting, photography, drama, psychology, and business competition.

体育赛事 Sports

在关注学生学业的同时，学校也注重同学们的身心健康。每年，学校都会开展篮球赛、足球赛以及运动会，由此丰富同学们的校园生活，使同学们能够在体育赛事中尽情挥洒青春。这类体育活动不仅培养了各位同学的竞争意识，更注重在竞争中合作的团队意识。

Our school not only pays attention to students' academic performance but also focuses on their physical and mental health. Every year, the school organizes basketball games, football games, and sports meeting to enrich the students' campus life and enable them to enjoy their youth in sports events. This kind of sports events cultivated the students' sense of competition and their teamwork spirit.

Photography Competition 摄影比赛

从无序中寻找有序，从平淡的日常生活中发现美。摄影比赛的初衷正是希望同学们能够在学习之余，能够暂时放下手中的笔，拿起相机，走进校园的各个角落，探寻和挖掘每个人心目中对生活独特的理解。

Seek order from disorder, and discover beauty from ordinary daily life. The purpose of the photography competition is to encourage students to put down their pens, pick up cameras, walk into every corner of the campus, explore and dig out their unique understanding of life.

美达菲130周年校庆暨上海美达菲系列活动，在紧密围绕学校办学理念同核心价值观的同时，展现了美达菲进入新时代后的传承与发展，也体现了上海美达菲学子们积极进取、超越自我的优秀品质。上海美达菲，我们一直都在前进的路上。

MacDuffie's 130th Anniversary Celebration and Shanghai MacDuffie's series of activities closely focused on the school philosophy and core values. It showed the inheritance and development of MacDuffie after entering the new era. It also reflected students' excellent qualities of being enterprising and keeping surpassing themself. Shanghai MacDuffie, we are always on the way to move forward.
