Why take the Technical Theatre and Production route in Drama?

You’ll learn all aspects of backstage work, from set design and construction to budgeting, administration, and staffing. You’ll also learn the latest in theatre production technologies, such as digital sound, computerized light boards, technical drawing, and scenic flying.

As a Technical Production student, you’ll have the unique opportunity to collaborate with directors, designers and actors from the University, as well as leading professionals from the local and national theatre scenes, to work on department productions and plays for the Studio Theatre season.

The Drama major, taken as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree, studies the way theatre creates cultural, social, and political meaning with the help of a faculty of experts who are professionals in their field. You will be exposed to every aspect of the theatrical process, including courses in acting, directing, and playwriting, while combining theory and practice through hands-on projects. 为来自中国的学生设计 Students applying directly from high school. English Language Requirements: A score of at least 90 on the TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet-based) with no less than 21 on each band, A score of at least 6.5 on the IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System) with no band less than 6.0 (see Note 4); A score of at least 61 on the PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) with no less than 60 in each communicative skill.
