Student Learning Outcomes

• To obtain a fundamental understanding of the theories, concepts, research, and process of speech communication in intercultural interactions
• To obtain a fundamental understanding of the theories, concepts, research, and process of speech communication in social and personal relationships
• To obtain a fundamental understanding of the theories, concepts, research, and process of assessment of individuals with various communication disorders
• To obtain a fundamental understanding of the theories, concepts, research, and process of specific intervention of individuals with various communication disorders
• To obtain a fundamental understanding of the theories, concepts, research, and process of hearing-testing of individuals with a hearing impairment
• To obtain a fundamental understanding of the theories, concepts, research, and process of remediation of individuals with hearing disorders

Program title change from Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, Speech and Hearing Science to Communication Sciences and Disorders awaiting New York State Education Department approval.

Department requirements (39 - 41 credits)

It is recommended that majors in the Communication Arts, Sciences and Disorders department meet with an adviser in the first year of studies.
