The study of film is a broad area. From camera equipment to directing, from writing scripts and screenplays to lighting the stage, there are many different jobs available to students who want to pursue a degree in film.

Film Major – 37 Hours

Required Courses (31 hours)

*Los Angeles Film Studies Center Program – 16 hours

Hollywood Production Workshop – 4 hours Faith & Artistic Development in Film – 3 hours Internship: Inside Hollywood – 6 hours Elective (Choose One) – 3 hours

Narrative Storytelling Professional Acting for the Camera Independent Study

FLM 250 Film Appreciation – 3 hours FLM 300 Writing the Short Film – 3 hours FLM 330 Film Production – 3 hours FLM 351 Screen Acting – 3 hours FLM 400 Film Directing and Editing – 3 hours

Elective Courses (6 hours – select two)

MAC 210 Mass Media and Society – 3 hours ART 320 Photography – 3 hours FLM/CHS 337 Theology in Film – 3 hours SPA 380/480 Special Topics: Hispanic Cinema & Culture – 3 hours FLM/POL 375 Politics and Film – 3 hours

Film Minor – 21 Hours

The Film Minor is simply the completion of all of the above, except for 16 hours earned at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center
