专业概况

The goals of the program are to prepare computer science professionals to work as specialists in the areas of secure software development and big data analytics as both technical and managerial leaders in industry and government.

Students in the program will be instructed in information assurance and cyber security, software engineering, database management and analytics, as well as project management and technical management. In addition, students will learn other valuable skills, drawing on The University of Findlay’s offerings in business, management and leadership.

Program Learning Objectives

Students who complete the program will:

• Manifest PSM goals of blending technical skills with business and managerial expertise (Bloom I – VI).
• Create and complete a capstone project that incorporates elements of management, leadership and one or more of the following technical areas: security, analytics and/or data management. The project will be judged as successful by a team of two faculty, and a possible external client, on the basis of a written report and verbal presentation. (Bloom I – VI).
• Expand their understanding of general computer science principles to incorporate the specialized knowledge of the program (Bloom I, II). The students’ success will be measured by their performance in the technical courses in the curriculum.
• Integrate their understanding of general computer science concepts into situations and principles of technical management, ethical decision-making and leadership (Bloom I – V). The students’ success will be measured by their performance in the business and leadership courses in the curriculum.
• Encounter real-world problems, involving technical decisions and successfully apply their understanding of both technical and business principles to create novel solutions (Bloom I – VI). Student success will be judged by their performances throughout the program.
• Practice team-based learning and team-building.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or meet specific graduate program admission requirements and have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in the last 64 semester hours of undergraduate work. English Language Requirements: minimum score of at least 79 on a verified TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) with 20 or better in speaking and 20 or better in writing or a verified International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic score with a minimum overall band score of 7.0.
