专业概况

在这里学什么？ **Course overview**: This degree includes an integrated foundation year if you do not have the appropriate subjects and/or grades for entry to year one of the degree. The course involves using game engines to implement the gameplay mechanics. There is a need in the industry for graduates with a thorough knowledge of games design but also with the ability to technically implement it. You explore core games design alongside programming (C++ and scripting for game engines). You study several shared group modules where you work with programmers and artists in the development of games. In the final year you follow your own specific area of specialisation through the 60-credit project module.**After the course**: This course provides you with a range of technical and design skills, making you the perfect candidate for a career as an independent games developer. Entrepreneurial support from University-based Launchpad helps you to start your career as an independent developer or small company. Many small studios now take advantage of Kickstarter funding to generate the funds to develop their games. As a graduate of this course, you have the skills to put forward a polished proof of concept to attract funding. As the course provides a range of transferable skills in real-time environments such as Unity and Unreal, you are also well suited for careers in virtual reality or real-time visualisation and interactive experiences.

为来自中国的学生设计 For entry onto a Foundation or Extended programme, applicants require: Huikao (Chinese senior secondary school graduation certificate) Successful completion of the first two years of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 70% or successful completion of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 60%; For entry onto an Undergraduate programme, applicants require: For entry onto Year 1: Huikao (Chinese senior secondary school graduation certificate) Successful completion of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 80% Or Gaokao (Chinese university or college entrance exam) with a minimum score of 500; For entry onto Higher National Diploma: Gaokao with a minimum score of 450; For entry onto Integrated Master of Engineering – MEng (Hons): Gaokao with a minimum score of 550; For entry onto Undergraduate top-up programmes (third-year entry); Dazhuan (three-year college graduation diploma) with a minimum of 70% average or, SQA Higher National Diploma with BBC as minimum or, Edexcel Higher National Diploma – standard UK entry requirements or, UK accredited foundation degree.
