The BFA in Performance & Production at Texas State University is a unique degree plan for student/artists interested in a well-rounded theatre degree.

Performance and Production encourages student involvement in multiple disciplines for the most valuable educational experience and training. We aim to create a sense of community and respect for both sides of the stage, hence the title of the degree plan – Performance AND Production. The BFA P&P students are interested in performing, directing, writing, stage management, film and technical theatre. It is highly recommended that student/artists concentrate on two areas of exploration and study. This will create marketable and well-rounded artists upon graduation from Texas State University. The Theatre Department has a wide variety of courses to choose from and the Performance & Production degree is the most malleable of the BFA programs in the department.

General Performance

If performing is your primary interest but you missed the auditions for the restricted program, you may be interested in the performance & production degree with concentrated electives in performance. A student seeking the BFA in Performance & Production can select from a variety of acting and performance art classes to fulfill the 18-24 hours of theatre electives required for the degree. The P&P performance student will be able to audition for the Main stage and Studio productions and participate in many other performance opportunities created for Texas State theatre students. This degree is ideal for acting transfer students and students who are interested in performance and other areas of theatre such as directing, playwriting, stage management, or film.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed a high school. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test), or 78 total score (internet-based test) with the following 3 out of 4 minimum section scores: 19 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 19 in Speaking and 18 in Writing; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score of 6.5 with at least a 6.0 in each section.
