专业概况

在这里学什么？

Students have the option of full or part-time status. Coursework is primarily online with state-of-the-art technology, including high tech simulation laboratories in the nursing building at Texas State University, Round Rock. Community health clinical sites are arranged by the SON in coordination with the student.

The RN to BSN degree requires 30 semester hours of nursing courses to be completed in as few as two semesters. However, if a slower pace is desired, take up to 6 semesters to complete the degree. We will work with you to design a degree program based on course offerings. An applicant will be awarded 30 semester hours for their completed Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). Field of study and core complete courses will be accepted toward meeting the required 60 prerequisite credits. These courses must be completed before beginning the RN to BSN program.

Requirements

Minimum of a 2.5 nursing GPA and minimum 2.5 prerequisite GPA.

Graduate of a state approved entry-level registered nurse program (ADN) governed by a regionally accredited academic institution.

Unencumbered RN license from the state where the applicant resides.

RN to BSN Program Outcomes

At the completion of the BSN program, a graduate of the St. David's School of Nursing at Texas State University will be able to:

Facilitate safe, holistic and effective patient/family centered care outcomes through use of evidence-based research and other science-based frameworks to promote and maintain health, prevent disease, and manage illness.

Demonstrate Professional accountability and responsibility for nursing judgements and actions within an ethical and legal framework, utilizing the most current knowledge.

Demonstrate leadership in the provision and coordination of safe, cost effective and high-quality nursing care.

Advocate for patients, families, communities, and the nursing profession, applying values and utilizing an ethical framework, clinical reasoning, and cultural competence.

Utilize information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, educate, mitigate error and support decision making.

Provide entry-level professional nursing care to clients across the lifespan in a variety of health care settings.

Promote a culture of caring to provide holistic, compassionate, culturally competent care.

Function effectively within nursing and interprofessional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision making to achieve quality patient care.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test), or 78 total score (internet-based test) with the following 3 out of 4 minimum section scores: 19 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 19 in Speaking and 18 in Writing; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score of 6.5 with at least a 6.0 in each section.
