Overview

Civil Engineering is a highly important profession. It involves the design, construction, maintenance, operation and decommisioning of crucial infrastructure facilities, upon which modern life depends.

The MSc in Construction and Project Management enables graduate engineers to develop effective management skills that will allow them to take a leading role in these operations.

This programme is ideal for those with a degree in civil engineering/the built environment, management, and cognate disciplines, who are interested in pursuing a career in construction and project management.

You will acquire a strong business acumen and a solid understanding of the legal issues surrounding construction management, in addition to a variety of transferrable skills.

The programme is delivered jointly by the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics and the Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences, at the University of Bradford. There is a strong input from industry, where an emphasis is placed on providing a supportive environment that will you with the knowledge and learning skills to tackle the challenges in industry.

Learning and assessment

Study will include interactive two-way lectures, including lectures from visiting professors and guest speakers. We make use of case studies, practical demonstrations, and provide an array of resources and background information to help students understand the vast array of opportunities open to today’s professional engineer. Most teaching material is provided online in advance of the teaching sessions, allowing you to customise the display of information and your learning experience as a whole.

Management of construction projects is a crucial profession involving the design, construction, maintenance, operation and decommissioning of infrastructure facilities upon which modern life depends, such as buildings, power plants, bridges, highways, industrial facilities, and water and wastewater treatment stations. With each successive year, an increasing number of construction project managers are required both in the UK and overseas, guaranteeing promising employment prospects for graduates working in this discipline. Our programme provides graduates with a competitive combination of core knowledge and management skills, which will pave the way for a fruitful career in construction and project management.

为来自中国的学生设计 For first class degree classification students need to have bachelors degree with 85%; For 2:1 degree classification students need to have 80% and for 2:2 degree classification students need to have 70% are considered. You will need to achieve an Overall Band score of at least 6.0*, with at least 5.0 in each of the four sub-tests (speaking, listening, reading, writing) or 5.5 in each of the sub-tests if you require a Tier 4 visa.
