专业概况

The B.A. major in journalism includes training in the tools needed to thrive in our digital era. Students choose a concentration in either news reporting and editing or public relations. The degree shares its structure with the other undergraduate degrees offered through The Media School: including The Media Core (Managing/Making/Thinking: Media), a concentration, and specializations. The curriculum’s streamlined and flexible design incorporates foundational, theoretical, and skills coursework focused on the convergence of information technologies and the rapid evolution in the fields of journalism and public relations. Students learn to conduct research, evaluate information, and write and edit using the forms and styles appropriate to a variety of media. The news reporting and editing concentration helps students learn to read, think, and communicate clearly, critically, and creatively. The concentration in public relations combines foundational journalism courses with public relations coursework focusing on principles, concepts, research, and application of best practices in developing and managing effective communication campaigns. The required 3-course specialization in public relations and strategic communication provides PR students the opportunity to develop, practice, and launch a public relations campaign, thus honing the necessary skills to pursue careers with public relations and advertising agencies, corporations, or nonprofit organizations.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have completed Upper Middle School Graduation Certificate with official English translation bearing the original ink seal of the school. Other English Language Requirements accepted: TOEFL with a minimum score of 550(paper-based).
