You will learn to think like a lawyer rather than just 'learn' law. A major factor in our quality is the calibre and enthusiasm of our staff, testing your mental agility with complex, realistic legal scenarios as you get to grips with criminal, public and private law, legal systems, contracts, human rights and explore family law, the law of property and legal aspects of the EU.Throughout your programme, you will study courses in French language, appropriate to your level of ability and add this extremely useful skill to your growing competence in law. French at Aberdeen has an outstanding reputation, gaining the highest possible rating in the last national Teaching Quality Assessment. You will also have lots of opportunity to hone your developing legal skills in student-led initiatives, such as mock legal debating, our highly active Law Society, the students’ journal in which your work may be published and our community law clinic – the Aberdeen Law Project.Should you choose to practice law, you will have a wide variety of career options within legal professions. However, more than a third of Aberdeen law graduates now choose to use their law degree as a passport for entry into a wide range of careers including business, finance and banking, media, teaching, governmental bodies and departments and the police force.Students wishing to transfer from another university, into the LLB degree at Aberdeen must submit an application to UCAS by the closing date of 15 January. The University of Aberdeen will only consider transfer into year 1 or year 2 of the LLB.**Graduates wishing to apply for an LLB** should apply for the 2-year LLB Accelerated degree – **Law Accelerated (M115)** or **Law with English Law Accelerated (M116)**.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students need to have a University Entrance Examination (GAOKAO): Arts and Social Sciences: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Science: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Students must score 80% or above in two science subjects. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Engineering: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Students must score 80% or above in Maths and Physics science subjects. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Law: Students with overall scores of 85% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. IELTS overall score - 6.0, Listening - 5.5 or above, Reading - 5.5 or above, Speaking - 5.5 or above, Writing - 6.0 or above. TOEFL iBT overall score - 78, Listening - 17 or above, Reading - 18 or above, Speaking - 20 or above, Writing - 21 or above.
