You will explore how the societies we live in shape us as individuals in all sorts of ways, and benefit from top-rated teaching and a culture of dynamic research to gain the skills to be a sought-after graduate by employers in many sectors and with strong international possibilities.Spanish & Latin American Studies at Aberdeen has an outstanding reputation, with the highest possible rating of ‘Excellent’ in the last national Teaching Quality Assessment. Aberdeen is one of the most dynamic place to study the Spanish language and the cultural frameworks in countries where it is spoken. We will equip you with the skills to communicate in a global language, spoken by 350 million native Spanish speakers in 19 Latin American states, the Spanish Peninsula and increasingly in the US. You will also study historical, anthropological, literary and cultural texts, films and visual culture of Spain and Latin American countries.Sociology at Aberdeen will complement and add depth to your studies of Spanish life and culture. You will explore how society shapes us as individuals in all sorts of ways, and study sociology of the family, work-life balance, religion and society. You will be taught by experts in social movements, conflict and peace, religion and secularisation and global political sociology and become skilled in the social research methods used to gather the evidence to better understand aspects of society – such as observation, interviews, large-scale surveys or analysing the content of documents and videos.As an integral part of your 5-year programme, you will spend the whole of year three taking your language and cultural skills to a very high level as a teaching assistant or visiting student in a Spanish-speaking country.In addition to your technical and language ability, you will develop great skills in thinking critically and posing probing questions – which have tremendous value to employers, for example in journalism, marketing and advertising, social and market research, teaching, health and social services, charities and human resources.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students need to have a University Entrance Examination (GAOKAO): Arts and Social Sciences: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Science: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Students must score 80% or above in two science subjects. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Engineering: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Students must score 80% or above in Maths and Physics science subjects. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Law: Students with overall scores of 85% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. IELTS overall score - 6.0, Listening - 5.5 or above, Reading - 5.5 or above, Speaking - 5.5 or above, Writing - 6.0 or above. TOEFL iBT overall score - 78, Listening - 17 or above, Reading - 18 or above, Speaking - 20 or above, Writing - 21 or above.
