专业概况

在这里学什么？ **Summary**: This degree includes an integrated foundation year if you do not have the appropriate subjects and/or grades for entry to year one of the degree. The course allows you to explore a broad range of historical themes and periods. You can also focus on a particular area of study, such as modern and contemporary European history, the ancient world, social and cultural history, and modern Irish history.**Course details**: To understand the present fully, we must look to the past. History is concerned with how the world came to be the way it is, and why. It is one of the most popular, respected and enduring academic disciplines. You get an overview of history from ancient civilisations to contemporary history. You develop your understanding of the nature of historical enquiry, including the relationships between sources, theory and interpretation. During your degree course, you acquire key transferable skills including critical thinking, and verbal and written communication – all highly valued by employers.**After the course**: A variety of career paths will be open to you, including law, accountancy, social work, librarianship, journalism, public relations, teaching, retail management and local government work.

为来自中国的学生设计 For entry onto a Foundation or Extended programme, applicants require: Huikao (Chinese senior secondary school graduation certificate) Successful completion of the first two years of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 70% or successful completion of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 60%; For entry onto an Undergraduate programme, applicants require: For entry onto Year 1: Huikao (Chinese senior secondary school graduation certificate) Successful completion of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 80% Or Gaokao (Chinese university or college entrance exam) with a minimum score of 500; For entry onto Higher National Diploma: Gaokao with a minimum score of 450; For entry onto Integrated Master of Engineering – MEng (Hons): Gaokao with a minimum score of 550; For entry onto Undergraduate top-up programmes (third-year entry); Dazhuan (three-year college graduation diploma) with a minimum of 70% average or, SQA Higher National Diploma with BBC as minimum or, Edexcel Higher National Diploma – standard UK entry requirements or, UK accredited foundation degree.
