Course overview

This course facilitates the transfer of knowledge from academic public health to the practice environment by translating research findings into actions that can be understood and acted upon by practitioners and the public. It offers enhanced opportunities for students wishing to pursue studies in the academic and applied world of public health. The University is keen to share its vision by reaching out to students worldwide – either as attendees or distance learners with full support and interactive resources with experienced team members.

Whether studying for career development part time or full time, or from a specific professional interest in the discipline, the MPH/DPH courses offer a distinguished broader-based learning programme aligned with the growing worldwide interest in public health development. Teaching focuses on core concepts and principles underpinning public health practice and policy development, which can be applied in a variety of settings. You are encouraged to apply these concepts and principles to your own area of practice or interest through the assessments you complete.

How you are assessed:

You are assessed through a range of methods to provide a variety of learning experiences and to challenge and extend your knowledge. These include written reports and essays, defended poster, case study, research proposals, and a dissertation. You are given written feedback on all assignments to outline your progress and encourage further development.

Career opportunities:

Successful completion of this programme provides opportunities for career progression for those already working in public health and opportunities for others to embark on a career in the field. It also serves as preparation for those wishing to take the Faculty of Public Health Part A examination.

为来自中国的学生设计 For entry onto a Postgraduate programme, applicants require: (4 year) Bachelor degrees with a GPA 2.7/4.0 or 70% from a Public University; or from a Project 211 University with a GPA 2.6/4.0 or 65%; or from a Private University with GPA 2.75/4.0 or 75%. Please refer the university website for details of the English Language requirements for entry to individual postgraduate degree programmes.
