If you want to make a tangible difference in the medical field right out of college, NSU's medical laboratory science degree is a perfect fit.

The medical laboratory scientist is a key member of any health care team, performing diagnostic testing on which health care professionals rely to best treat a patient.

Medical laboratory science (MLS) students at NSU study chemistry, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, molecular biology and microbiology in preparation for careers as medical laboratory scientists.

Your first three years of study will be on NSU’s campus, completing a variety of courses to prepare you for clinical experience. Your senior year will be devoted to hands-on clinical study and laboratory training at one of NSU's partnering hospitals.

CAREERS

Students who complete an MLS degree often are immediately employed in hospitals, clinics, medical research facilities, government agencies, veterinary labs, industry, the armed forces and other specialty facilities.

Medical laboratory scientists are consistently in high demand. Graduates who desire to stay close to home have no problem finding employment options at our numerous regional hospitals. Students who prefer a change of scenery will find numerous job opportunities across the country or around the globe.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants to NSU must: Rank in the top 60 percent of their high school graduating class; or achieve an ACT composite score of 18 or above; SAT score of 950 or SAT Reasoning Test Math and Critical Reading sub scores total of 870 or above or Earn a GPA of at least 2.6 on a 4.0 scale in all high school courses and complete the following required courses with a cumulative grade of "C" or higher (GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale): Four years of English or ACT English sub-test score of 18 or above or AP English score of 3 or above; Three years of advanced mathematics: Or ACT math sub-test score of 20 or above or AP calculus score of 3 or above; Three years of laboratory science or ACT science reasoning sub-test score of 17 or above or AP science score of 3 or above. English Language Requirements: TOEFL IBT (61-70 or above); TOEFL PBT (525 or above); IELTS (5.5 or above); PTE Academic (41 or above).
