在这里学什么？ **Course overview**: Mathematics provides an essential basis for understanding modern finance. This course combines a grounding in maths concepts and methods with an opportunity to develop skills that can be applied to the analysis and modelling of financial markets. As a mathematics with economics graduate, a range of career options are available to you - from banking and insurance, to teaching and local government.The essentials of finance and underlying economic theory are studied alongside mathematics. Throughout the course emphasis is placed on problem solving and real-world applications.Within this programme you have the opportunity to spend one year learning and developing your skills through work experience. You have a dedicated work placement officer and the University's award-winning careers service to assist you with applying for a placement. Advice is also available on job hunting and networking. Employers are often invited to our School to meet you and present you with opportunities for work placements.**After the course**: A wide variety of career options are available to mathematics with economics graduates in the financial services sector, including working as an actuary, in accountancy, banking, insurance, investment management and management consultancy. In the public sector specialists in maths and finance are employed in the civil service, local government and other organisations such as the NHS. The course also provides a sound basis for finance, economics, econometrics, logistics, mathematics, statistics and many other areas.

为来自中国的学生设计 For entry onto a Foundation or Extended programme, applicants require: Huikao (Chinese senior secondary school graduation certificate) Successful completion of the first two years of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 70% or successful completion of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 60%; For entry onto an Undergraduate programme, applicants require: For entry onto Year 1: Huikao (Chinese senior secondary school graduation certificate) Successful completion of Senior Secondary School with a minimum average of 80% Or Gaokao (Chinese university or college entrance exam) with a minimum score of 500; For entry onto Higher National Diploma: Gaokao with a minimum score of 450; For entry onto Integrated Master of Engineering – MEng (Hons): Gaokao with a minimum score of 550; For entry onto Undergraduate top-up programmes (third-year entry); Dazhuan (three-year college graduation diploma) with a minimum of 70% average or, SQA Higher National Diploma with BBC as minimum or, Edexcel Higher National Diploma – standard UK entry requirements or, UK accredited foundation degree.
