The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing for public schools endorses the Bachelor of Music in Music Education (Pre-Teacher Certification) for students wishing to pursue a career in K-12 music education. This degree program trains future music teachers in all areas including choral, instrumental, and general music, offering preparation in the necessary skills, knowledge, and appropriate methodologies for success at all levels of music education within California. The music education major provides students with further opportunities to hone their skills by volunteering with local schools and arts organizations such as the Azusa Conservatory of Music. In addition, one-on-one faculty interaction provides guidance for students as they graduate and move on to credential and master’s degree programs.

Music Education Careers: Public School Music Teacher, Elementary School Music Teacher, Choir and Show Choir Director, Marching Band, Concert Band, or Jazz Band Director, Orchestra Director, Percussion Ensemble Director, AP Music Theory Teacher, Classroom Guitar and/or Piano Teacher, Music Technology Teacher, Music Composition Teacher, Music Administrator, Music Librarian, Private Vocal or Instrumental Instructor

International students should have obtained a TOEFL iBT sore 80 including scores of 22 in speaking, 22 in listening, 22 in reading, and 22 in writing and IELTS score 6.0.
