专业概况

The combination of the M.A. Government in Politics and M.S. Library and Information Science provides students with the opportunity to integrate two complementary bodies of knowledge. The graduate program in government and politics supplements the library science degree allowing students to broaden and deepen their understanding of the governmental structure, institutions, public administration, and political and legal processes, while simultaneously mastering contemporary means of accessing and managing related information.

Courses

As part of this dual degree program, you complete a total of 57 credits rather than the 66 credits required to pursue both degrees separately.

You complete curriculum requirements for each degree with four courses (12 credits) applying to both programs.

These exchange courses include:

• GOV 205 Modern Political Research
• GOV Elective
• LIS 251 Information Sources in the Social Sciences
• LIS 265 Online Database Searching and Services

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have an evidence of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university including official transcripts from each institution attended. English Language Requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) examination. Successful candidates present a score of 500 on the paper-based test; 173 on the computerized test; 61 on the internet based test; or 5.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
