专业概况

The Department of Counseling offers a 60 credit-hour, Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This program emphasizes creativity, diversity, developmental and relational processes, ethics and professional identity within Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Students may earn credit toward a state license and/or certification to practice in clinical settings such as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

A variety of career opportunities are available in non-profit, private, state and federal sectors including: juvenile counselor, drug/substance abuse counselor, marriage and family counselor, and a general Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

PROGRAM OPTIONS

This degree offers the opportunity for advanced study and professional development in the fields of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Addictions, Multicultural, and Marriage and Family. Students may earn credit toward a state-level counseling license to practice in clinical mental health settings (Licensed Professional Counselor).

The Counseling Department and the UTSA Sarabia Family Counseling Center are conveniently located at the UTSA Downtown Campus, offering graduate students easy access to their coursework, resources and faculty.

为来自中国的学生设计 Earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited xadcollege or university in the United States or have proof of equivalent training at a foreign institution. A minimum grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) from an awarded master's or bachelor's degree may be admitted with no conditions. TOEFL Internet 79, TOEFL Paper 60, IELTS 6.5.
