专业概况

Legal and ethical issues in the health field have become increasingly complex and unmistakably current. Professionals versed in both fields are prepared to lead these debates and offer sophisticated solutions to problems with an inter-disciplinary knowledge base.

The Masters of Bioethics is an interdisciplinary degree offered by the Department of Medical Ethics & Health Policy in the Perelman School of Medicine. This degree gives students broad exposure to the diverse topics and issues in contemporary Bioethics, excellently complementing the Law degree for those interested in careers in health law and in health and medical ethics policy.

Students can earn both degrees in three years. Penn Law gives credit for four (4) courses in Bioethics toward the JD. The Bioethics degree itself requires nine (9) courses, including four (4) pre-approved and relevant courses that can be taken at the Law School.
