专业概况
在这里学什么?At the heart of high performance sport is the conditioning of the athlete, with the aim of optimising individual and team performance and keeping them at the top of their game. You will gain skills in sports performance and analysis, exercise programming, and strength and conditioning of athletes. You’ll learn to design and deliver programs that enhance athletic performance and reduce the likelihood of injury and illness.
Duration
2.5* or 3 years, or part-time equivalent. *The 2.5 year course map is only available for students commencing in Semester 1 and will require students to enrol in Summer and Winter units which might not be feasible/attractive for some students. Therefore, a course map is also offered for students seeking a traditional 3-year progression.
Professional experience
You will be required to complete 200 hours, starting in second year.
Work placement
To be a competent Exercise Scientist and Strength and Conditioning Coach, students must be able to be transfer the knowledge and skills they’ve learnt to a professional context with increasing autonomy and confidence. Your professional experience will allow you to apply your learning to help support clients’ and athletes’ needs, operate effectively in an ethically responsible manner and communicate effectively. By undertaking practicum you’ll meet the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) professional practice requirements for Exercise Science accreditation and Exercise Scientist and Strength and Conditioning accreditation (level 2).
Professional recognition
This degree has 'qualifying accreditation' status with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) for the Strathfield, Melbourne and Brisbane campuses. Graduates are eligible to apply for Level 2 accreditation with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association.
The Bachelor of High Performance Sport offered at our Blacktown Campus is identical to the programs at our other campuses which are working towards accreditation. Accreditation is expected for Blacktown in 2023, once the first cohort is in its final year.

Students with a Student Visa will need to complete the program in minimum duration, study at least one subject on-campus each semester and must not undertake more than 33% of the program online.

Ranks on the GCE are calculated on the basis that at the Advanced Level (A2): A=6, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, and must include results in minimum of two advanced Level (A2) and up to two (2) at Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS) subjects. AS Level subject is half of that assigned at Advanced Level (A2) – A=3, A=2.5, B=2, C=1.5, D=1, E=0.5. Subjects at Advanced Level (A2) must be taken in the same academic year. AS Level subjects may be taken in the same or previous academic year. A subject taken at both AS Level and Advanced Level is only counted once for aggregate score. Applicants must have must have the equivalent of an Australian Year 12 Certificate. English Language Requirements: Overall IELTS score of 6.0 (with an individual score of 6.0 in writing and speaking; 5.5 in listening and reading); Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50 with a minimum of 50 in writing and speaking and a minimum of 42 in reading and listening; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Academic (TOEFL): Internet based total of 60: minimum 21 in writing, 18 in speaking, 8 in reading and 7 in listening; ACU English Language Test: C (60-64%); Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): Overall CAE of 169 (Minimum score of 169 in writing and speaking and 162 in listening and reading).课程信息
