The Bachelor of Ministry prepares you for Christian ministry in today’s world. The Bachelor of Ministry provides a thorough foundation in theology and biblical studies, shaping a Christian worldview that directly connects with vocation, integrating a broad and coherent theoretical and practical knowledge in an area of specialized ministry.

You will also hone your skills in communication and problem solving, alongside developing specialist knowledge and expertise in your chosen specialization, like chaplaincy, humanities, and practical ministry. Theories are applied and professional skills are developed through practical assessments and work-integrated learning. There is a special emphasis on leadership to ensure that you are instilled with a sense of responsibility and the Christian ethic of caring for your neighbour.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course structure is based on six semesters (each of 12 weeks duration, plus an exam week), with four subjects taught in each semester.

It comprises:

11 compulsory core subjects - 110 credit points

8 major (specialization) subjects - 80 credit points

5 electives subjects - 50 credit points.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

Knowledge:

Graduates will:

demonstrate a broad and coherent knowledge of Christian history, doctrine and tradition as a foundation for ministry.

Skills:

Graduates demonstrate:

skills to analyze and interpret the biblical text, using sound hermeneutical methods, as a core document of the Christian faith with consideration for the contemporary application of the text;

skills to consolidate, synthesize and communicate appropriate elements of a Christian Worldview relating to situation, purpose, corporate need and personal spiritual praxis, with particular emphasis on the role of the gospel in providing an ethical framework for personal living;

ability to discuss and analyze contemporaneous topics, issues and challenges impacting on Christian ministry and the Pentecostal community, and create solutions to these challenges;

ability to collaborate with the broader community of Christian ministers and community leaders to provide appropriate collegial support.

Application of Knowledge and Skills:

Graduates demonstrate:

skills in critical thinking and self-directed research, using a range of sources and methods;

self-reflection and evaluation of ministry and leadership performance for the purpose of vocational development;

cognitive and technical skills required for ministry functions, including depth within the field of specialization;

breadth and complexity of professional ministry skills pertinent to engagement with congregational communities. This includes the ability to apply knowledge and skills to new and diverse contexts.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must meet one of the following academic entry requirements: For Applicants with Recent Secondary Education: Completion of NSW Higher School Certificate with an ATAR of 65 or higher, or the completion of the interstate or overseas equivalent qualification and result. For Applicants with a Vocational Education and Training Qualification: Completion of an Australian Certificate IV or higher qualification awarded by an authorised institution or registered training organisation (or equivalent overseas qualification). For Applicants with a Higher Education Qualification: Completion of at least an Australian Level 5 Higher Education Diploma awarded under the Australian Qualifications Framework (or equivalent overseas qualification). For Applicants with Work and Life Experience: Applicants with no formal qualifications who are aged 21+ may be eligible for provisional entry into this course. These students will need to successfully complete their first 4 subjects to be permitted to continue without the Provisional Entry restrictions. International Students will be required to show proficiency in English. Specific English requirements for this course are a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall, reading 6.0; writing 6.0; speaking 6.0; and listening 6.0 (or equivalent).
