专业概况

Professional experience
You will be required to complete a compulsory Community Engagement unit featuring between 35 and 70 volunteer hours, and have the option of completing a work integrated learning unit consisting of up to 150 hours.
Work placement
All students will undertake work integrated learning and industry-driven projects throughout their IT degree.
In addition, through our engagement placement you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the contributions of social enterprises with 35-70 hours of volunteering with a not-for-profit organisation.
Then with your Work Integrated Learning (WIL) unit you’ll bridge the gap between academic studies and the real world of work by completing up to 150 hours of learning activities that allow you to apply your academic learning in a ‘real-life’ environment provided by an industry partner or a University organisation working on a real project. WIL strengthens your essential job-ready skills and experiences and provides you with the opportunity to learn about workplace culture, prepare for the future world of work, develop professional networks and build your employability skills. WIL may be conducted on or off campus, face-to-face or online, and paid or unpaid. Each student is jointly supervised by an academic supervisor and a placement supervisor.

Ranks on the GCE are calculated on the basis that at the Advanced Level (A2): A=6, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, and must include results in minimum of two advanced Level (A2) and up to two (2) at Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS) subjects. AS Level subject is half of that assigned at Advanced Level (A2) – A=3, A=2.5, B=2, C=1.5, D=1, E=0.5. Subjects at Advanced Level (A2) must be taken in the same academic year. AS Level subjects may be taken in the same or previous academic year. A subject taken at both AS Level and Advanced Level is only counted once for aggregate score. Applicants must have must have the equivalent of an Australian Year 12 Certificate. English Language Requirements: Overall IELTS score of 6.0 (with an individual score of 6.0 in writing and speaking; 5.5 in listening and reading); Pearson Test of English (PTE): 50 with a minimum of 50 in writing and speaking and a minimum of 42 in reading and listening; Test of English as a Foreign Language - Academic (TOEFL): Internet based total of 60: minimum 21 in writing, 18 in speaking, 8 in reading and 7 in listening; ACU English Language Test: C (60-64%); Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): Overall CAE of 169 (Minimum score of 169 in writing and speaking and 162 in listening and reading).课程信息
