The MPA/MS in Mental Health Counselling dual degree prepares you for leadership roles in mental health, human service, and community service organizations across all sectors.

This program links the discipline of public management with the practice and delivery of mental health services via private, public, and non-profit organizations. As a graduate, you’ll also gain the qualifications to seek licensure. To apply for this program, you must meet the admission requirements for both the MPA and MS in Mental Health programs.

MSMHC Practicum and Internship

It is during the counselling skills Lab (COUNS-737) and the counselling Practica (COUNS-738 and COUNS-739) that a student demonstrates the ability to translate training into professional judgments and techniques. Students are required to apply formally for the counselling Internship and to consult with their faculty advisors regarding their field placements. The counselling Skills Laboratory and the Practicum must be completed with a grade of “B” (3.0) or higher. After two failed attempts to satisfactorily complete the clinical practicum and/or internship, students will be subject to dismissal from the program at the discretion of faculty. Student engagement in unethical behaviour as defined by the American Counselling Association (ACA) will be subject to discipline, including potential dismissal from the program, at the time the indiscretion occurs.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or an equivalent degree granted by an institution in another country (as determined by the Office of Graduate Admission). English Language Scores: A minimum TOEFL score of 80 in the iBT scoring system (with no sub-score lower than 17) or 550 on the paper-based is required to be considered for full admission. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - A minimum score of 6.5 (with no sub-score below 6.0) is required to be considered for full admission. PTE-Academic (Pearson Test of English) - A minimum score of 65 is required to be considered for full admission.
