This dual-degree option combines finance and accounting in an expedited program geared to get you ready for the CPA and CFA exams.

In as few as 16 months, this unique dual-degree program not only prepares you for leadership roles in accounting and finance, but it also gets you ready for the CPA and CFA exams. The curriculum addresses concepts in a global context, while emphasizing the topic matters necessary to sit for the CPA exam, the FRM exam and level one of the CFA exam in Massachusetts. As a graduate, you’ll be well-prepared for a career in accounting areas, such as public accounting, corporate or not-for-profit controllership, as well as finance areas, such as corporate finance, financial technology, investments and risk management.

Suffolk’s Master of Science in Finance degree is one of the only programs in New England that’s a member of both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute University Affiliation Program and a Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) Academic Partner. It is also a STEM Designated program. Suffolk’s Master of Science in Accounting degree meets the educational requirements for students to take the CPA exam in Massachusetts. You’ll also take courses that integrate Becker's CPA Exam Review Course, giving you supplemental material to help you ace your classes while also preparing you for success on the CPA exam.

With our flexible fall, spring, and summer course offerings, you can take two classes back-to-back in one evening. We offer online courses on a space available basis for added flexibility.

STEM Classification

The MSA/MSF is a dual degree program with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) designation. Due to the demand of graduates with expertise in STEM fields, the Department of Homeland Security permits international students graduating from STEM programs to apply for a 24-month extension of their initial year of Optional Practical Training (OPT).

English Language Scores: A minimum TOEFL score of 80 in the iBT scoring system (with no sub-score lower than 17) or 550 on the paper-based is required to be considered for full admission. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - A minimum score of 6.5 (with no sub-score below 6.0) is required to be considered for full admission. PTE-Academic (Pearson Test of English) - A minimum score of 65 is required to be considered for full admission.
