Globalization is transforming the way lawyers think and work. To be a successful lawyer today, you'll need to broaden your horizons, no matter where in the world you practice. That's one of the ways earning a Master of Laws degree (LLM) can work to your advantage. An LLM degree gives you the opportunity to acquire practical, specialized, legal knowledge that will make you more competitive in a tough job market.

Through LLM coursework, you'll gain in-depth exposure to a particular area of law that will give you an edge, whether you're a new attorney starting out or an experienced attorney looking to make a career change. For foreign lawyers, the Suffolk Law School LLM degree offers an opportunity to study US legal system at a school known for producing excellent lawyers.

At Suffolk Law, the focus is very practical. You'll learn not just the law, but also how to solve problems and sharpen your writing and advocacy skills. You'll be studying at a law school with nationally ranked programs in experiential specialties, such as legal writing and clinical training. Outside the classroom, you can test your skills by completing an internship for credit, either in the greater Boston area or internationally.

Created in 2002, Suffolk's Global Law and Technology program was the first of its kind in the United States: an LL.M. combining different specializations into one program. You can choose to specialize in one of the four areas below, or select from a wide range of courses to choose your own professional program:

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or an equivalent degree granted by an institution in another country (as determined by the Office of Graduate Admission). English Language Scores: A minimum TOEFL score of 80 in the iBT scoring system (with no sub-score lower than 17) or 550 on the paper-based is required to be considered for full admission. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - A minimum score of 6.5 (with no sub-score below 6.0) is required to be considered for full admission. PTE-Academic (Pearson Test of English) - A minimum score of 65 is required to be considered for full admission.
