The fields of mental health, human services, and crime and justice are becoming increasingly interdependent. Our Master of Science in Crime & Justice Studies/Master of Science in Mental Health counselling dual-degree program seeks to bridge the existing gaps between these sectors to ensure you have a solid foundation in each area. This dual-degree program will help you qualify for Massachusetts licensure and maximize your career potential.

Whether you choose to work in the private or public sector, our program will help you serve populations in need and treat issues holistically. Your crime and justice courses will allow you to explore the causes, contexts, and policies that can lead to or exacerbate mental illness. In your counselling courses, you will learn to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and groups with various mental health issues. You’ll complete the mental health curriculum full-time and may pursue the crime & justice studies curriculum full- or part-time.

MSCJS/MSMHC Dual Degree Requirements: 26 courses, 84 credits

The 84-credit dual Master of Science in Crime & Justice Studies/Master of Science in Mental Health counselling (MSCJS/MSMHC) program consists of 26 courses: eight in the Crime & Justice Studies Program (MSCJS) and 18 in the Mental Health counselling Program (MSMHC). The dual degree must be declared during the first year of matriculation. Mental Health counselling degree requirements must be completed during the first two years of full-time MSMHC program matriculation, beginning in the fall semester.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or an equivalent degree granted by an institution in another country (as determined by the Office of Graduate Admission). English Language Scores: A minimum TOEFL score of 80 in the iBT scoring system (with no sub-score lower than 17) or 550 on the paper-based is required to be considered for full admission. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - A minimum score of 6.5 (with no sub-score below 6.0) is required to be considered for full admission. PTE-Academic (Pearson Test of English) - A minimum score of 65 is required to be considered for full admission.
