The MPA/MA in Applied Politics dual-degree program will allow you to develop your political abilities while refining your leadership skills. This option is particularly useful if your goal is a long-lasting management career in municipal, state, or federal government.

With this powerful pair of degrees, you will master the intricacies of public administration in a NASPAA-accredited program in the Sawyer Business School, focusing on health policy, human resources, nonprofit management, or local, state, or federal government. In our College of Arts & Sciences, you will engage the pragmatics of the political world, including legislation, lobbying, writing, and data analysis. All of it will set you up for success in roles such as municipal manager, public service executive, legislator, or cabinet-level official.

A required internship will further strengthen your skills and provide valuable networking contacts for your career.

Degree Requirements: 18 courses, 54 credits

This 18-course (54 credits) program consists of:

Eight required MPA courses (24 credits)

Two MPA electives (6 credits)

Five required Government courses (15 credits)

Three Government electives (9 credits)

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or an equivalent degree granted by an institution in another country (as determined by the Office of Graduate Admission). English Language Scores: A minimum TOEFL score of 80 in the iBT scoring system (with no sub-score lower than 17) or 550 on the paper-based is required to be considered for full admission. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - A minimum score of 6.5 (with no sub-score below 6.0) is required to be considered for full admission. PTE-Academic (Pearson Test of English) - A minimum score of 65 is required to be considered for full admission.
